About the Opportunity

Our client, a specialised medical technology company, is seeking an experienced IT Support Technician to join their team in Port Elizabeth.

This is an opportunity to develop a specialised career in medical technology, with training provided to become a Clinical Support Technician supporting advanced surgical navigation systems in hospital operating theatres.

The position is primarily hospital-based, with most working time spent supporting surgical cases in and around Port Elizabeth. Administrative duties will generally be completed from home when not attending hospital cases.

Minimum Requirements

· Previous experience in an IT support or technical support role.

· Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

· Good communication and interpersonal skills.

· A valid driver's licence.

· A reliable, roadworthy personal vehicle with sufficient space to transport large medical equipment.

· Willingness to use a personal vehicle for work-related travel and transporting company equipment.

· Availability for scheduled surgical cases, standby duties and medical emergencies, including nights, weekends and public holidays.

· Ability to work independently, respond reliably to urgent requests and remain professional under pressure.

· Previous hospital experience or exposure to medical equipment will be an advantage, but is not essential, as training will be provided.

Remuneration and Probation

· Probation period: Six months.

· Remuneration will be reviewed upon successful completion of probation.

Company-Provided Equipment and Benefits

· A company laptop and internet access from the first day of employment.

· A cell phone allowance during the probation period.

· A company cell phone upon successful completion of probation.

· Following successful completion of probation, the company contributes 50% towards the employee's medical aid contribution, excluding dependants.

· Following successful completion of probation, the company contributes 50% towards the employee's provident fund retirement contribution, with the remaining 50% deducted from the employee's salary.

· All company-provided equipment remains the property of the employer and is for business use only.
