IT System Engineer

About the role

The System Engineer implements, configures, and supports Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions to deploy, manage, track, and audit devices and access. They monitor, troubleshoot, and administer these systems for the organization and clients, while also expanding expertise to support business growth.

This role is responsible for overseeing, supporting, and enhancing the organization's core IT systems — including the MDM/IAM solution, the company's internal Google Workspace environment, and the BitDefender Email Security system — proposing enhanced system configurations and procedures to improve security and fulfill client and internal requirements. They are also expected to perform IT End-User Computing tasks as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, oversee, and manage the MDM system, including its associated resources.
• Take charge of the complete setup and configuration process for the MDM system, including management and organization of MDM resources such as devices, users, software, policies, systems integrations, and audit reports.
• Provide comprehensive support for the MDM functionality, including troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues, fulfillment of service requests concerning MDM configuration and deployment, and guidance on MDM policies and best practices.
• Administer, support, and enhance the company's internal Google Workspace environment — including configuration, user/access management, alerts, and reporting.
• Own administration of the BitDefender Email Security system — configuration, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance to protect both the company's internal email and client email environments against phishing, malware, and spam.
• Learn and adapt quickly to the organization's selected MDM platform (currently JumpCloud), with an expectation to take and pass the relevant platform certifications within the initial onboarding period.
• Maintain administration proficiency across major MDM platforms beyond the organization's current tool (e.g., ManageEngine, Hexnode, Intune).
• Rapidly learn new technologies and self-direct research to resolve technical challenges.
• Manage time-sensitive requests, and prioritize and complete tasks promptly for internal and authorized external business partners.

About you

• Must have at least two years of experience with MDM and IAM tools, along with a strong understanding of enterprise MDM platforms such as JumpCloud, ManageEngine, Hexnode, VMWare, SOTI MobiControl, MS Intune, or others.
• Proven experience in automating routine tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Powershell) is required.
• Knowledgeable in managing macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android devices.
• A background in managing and integrating Cloud Directory like Google Workspace, M365, or Okta is an advantage.
• Familiarity with email security tools (e.g. BitDefender, Proofpoint, Mimecast) is an advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills to effectively interact with international teams, vendors, and clients.
• Strong self-motivation, effective time management, and excellent virtual communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
