IT (System Implementation) Intern

Job Duties:

• Assist in developing and enhancing features for the EmplX system.
• Assist in investigating, debugging and resolving software issues.
• Write, review and modify program code under guidance from senior developers.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries, functions and database-related components.
• Perform unit testing and support QA testing of new features and bug fixes.
• Analyze system requirements and assist in translating requirements into technical solutions.
• Assist in maintaining and improving existing system modules.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation where required.
• Perform other software development tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Education:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.

Experience:

No prior working experience required. Academic projects, personal projects or previous internship experience involving software development will be an added advantage.

Required Skill Set:

• Basic knowledge of programming and software development.
• Knowledge of at least one programming language.
• Basic to intermediate SQL knowledge.
• Understanding of relational databases; PostgreSQL knowledge is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of web application development.
• Basic understanding of Git/version control is an advantage.
• Good debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills.
