It Technical Support Engineer

Job Summary
You will be the first point of contact for all IT infrastructure at our campuses: network, computers, classroom devices, CCTV and software support for staff and students.

Key Responsibilities

Network & Connectivity

• Install, configure and maintain LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi access points, switches, routers and firewalls
• Monitor internet uptime and troubleshoot connectivity issues; coordinate with ISPs
• Manage IP addressing, VLANs, basic firewall rules and network security
• Maintain network diagrams and cabling (structured cabling, crimping, patch panels)

Hardware

• Set up, configure and repair desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, projectors, interactive panels / smart boards and biometric devices
• Manage computer labs: OS installation, imaging, upgrades and preventive maintenance
• Keep an IT asset inventory and coordinate with vendors for AMC, warranty and repairs

Software & User Support

• Install and troubleshoot Windows, MS Office, antivirus and school applications (ERP, LMS)
• Support staff on Google Workspace / email accounts, user IDs and device access
• Take and resolve helpdesk requests from teachers and admin staff on time
• Manage data backups and basic system security

CCTV & Security Systems

• Install, configure and maintain IP/analog CCTV cameras, NVR/DVR and storage
• Ensure 24x7 recording, check footage retention, and retrieve footage when asked
• Set up remote/mobile viewing and troubleshoot camera downtime
• Support access control, PA systems and other campus security devices

Other

• Provide tech support for school events, exams, online classes, meetings and assemblies
• Follow data privacy and child-safety guidelines for all systems and footage
• Recommend upgrades and prepare hardware requirement and quotation comparisons

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, assembly and troubleshooting
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, LAN/Wi-Fi setup, router/switch configuration
• Hands-on CCTV experience (Hikvision, CP Plus, Dahua or similar NVR/DVR)
• Windows OS installation, drivers and basic server/Active Directory knowledge
• Printers, projectors and interactive display troubleshooting
• Good communication skills in Gujarati, Hindi and English, and a patient, service-minded attitude toward non-technical users

Preferred

• Experience in a school, college or multi-branch organisation
• Familiarity with Google Workspace admin, school ERP systems, firewalls (Sophos / Fortinet) and biometric attendance systems
• Own two-wheeler for travel between campuses
