JOB DESCRIPTION – IT TECHNICIAN

Job Purpose

The IT Technician is responsible for providing technical support to employees, maintaining computer systems, networks, printers, software, and other IT equipment, and ensuring the smooth and reliable operation of the company's IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support to employees for hardware, software, network, and system-related issues.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment.
• Set up new computers, user accounts, email accounts, software, and required applications for employees.
• Troubleshoot LAN, Wi-Fi, internet, and basic network connectivity issues.
• Maintain and monitor company servers, network devices, routers, switches, and other IT infrastructure as assigned.
• Manage user access, passwords, permissions, and basic IT security requirements.
• Install software updates, antivirus programs, security patches, and system upgrades.
• Maintain proper records of IT equipment, assets, licenses, repairs, and replacements.
• Perform regular backups and assist with data recovery when required.
• Provide technical support for printers, photocopiers, CCTV, access-control systems, and other office technology where applicable.
• Coordinate with external IT service providers and vendors for technical repairs, maintenance, and support.
• Monitor IT equipment and identify potential technical problems before they affect business operations.
• Assist in maintaining IT security, confidentiality, and protection of company data.
• Support production and office departments with their IT and technical requirements.
• Prepare basic IT reports, maintenance records, and incident records.
• Ensure all IT equipment is properly maintained and used according to company procedures.
• Perform any other IT-related duties assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant IT support/technician experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, computer hardware, printers, and networking.
• Basic knowledge of LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, TCP/IP, routers, switches, and network troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of IT security, antivirus, backups, and user access management.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and provide timely technical support.

Performance Expectations

The IT Technician is expected to maintain reliable IT operations, respond to technical issues promptly, minimize system downtime, protect company data, and provide professional technical support to all departments.

Pay: AED1,432.78 - AED3,000.00 per month
