IT Technician

Position Overview

Speed Script provides pharmacy management software and technology services to independent pharmacies and regional chains nationwide. We are seeking an IT Technician to support the day-to-day operations, maintenance, security, and improvement of our internal and public-facing corporate systems.

Working closely with the IT Manager, this role helps maintain reliable infrastructure, deploy and administer systems, monitor services and backups, and support planned upgrades. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically capable, methodical in troubleshooting, and eager to build expertise in Speed Script products and pharmacy technology. Success in this position requires an understanding of how dependable technology and responsive support help pharmacies serve patients safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

· Monitor the health, availability, and performance of infrastructure, services, and backups.

· Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and administrative procedures.

· Provision and manage user access in production and test environments.

· Assist with infrastructure maintenance, upgrades, and scheduled operational work.

· Deploy, configure, and support physical and virtual servers.

· Troubleshoot system, network, and application issues using a consistent top-down or bottom-up methodology.

Required Qualifications

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to collaborate effectively while independently managing assigned responsibilities.

· Experience administering Microsoft environments, including Windows operating systems, Hyper-V, Active Directory, DFS, Exchange, and WSUS.

· Experience configuring and supporting server and network hardware, including servers, storage systems, switches, firewalls, and routers.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, carry, position, and install equipment weighing up to 65 pounds in server racks, with or without reasonable accommodation. Equipment weighing more than 65 pounds must be handled using team-lifting procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in every area below is not required. However, knowledge or experience in one or more of these areas would be a strong advantage:

· Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and SQL queries.

· Experience with Linux operating systems and service stacks, including Postfix, Apache, Nginx, and HAProxy.

· Experience with Microsoft cloud solutions, including Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, and Intune.

· Experience configuring Dell servers, Juniper switches, SonicWall firewalls, or comparable systems.

· Experience with Commvault or similar backup and recovery products.

· Experience with SAN storage systems.

· Knowledge of the .NET Framework and troubleshooting applications built on it.

· Knowledge of healthcare information security and privacy requirements and frameworks, including the HIPAA Security Rule, the HITECH Act, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST SP 800-66, HITRUST CSF, and the CIS Critical Security Controls.

Work Schedule and Location

· This is a full-time, nonexempt position. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

· Work is performed onsite at the company’s office. Employee may also be required to travel to a nearby data center to service infrastructure.

· Occasional evening and weekend work is required for scheduled maintenance and urgent operational needs. All hours worked must be recorded and will be compensated in accordance with applicable wage-and-hour laws.

Compensation and Benefits

· Compensation**:** $25 per hour, paid biweekly. Overtime is compensated in accordance with applicable law.

Employment Conditions

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of applicable background checks and federal healthcare exclusion and debarment screening against the HHS-OIG List of Excluded Individuals/Entities and the SAM.gov exclusion records.
