Italian Bakery Associate

Job Summary

Scarpetta is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Italian Bakery Associate to assist with preparing, baking, displaying, and maintaining the quality of Italian-inspired baked goods. The ideal candidate will have an interest in baking, a commitment to food safety, and the ability to work collaboratively to ensure fresh products and an inviting bakery presentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing Italian-inspired baked goods, breads, pastries, and desserts
• Measure and prepare ingredients according to established recipes
• Support mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking procedures
• Prepare doughs and batters under the direction of experienced bakers
• Monitor baking times, temperatures, and product quality
• Decorate, portion, package, and label bakery products as required
• Arrange baked goods attractively for display and customer service
• Check product freshness and rotate inventory appropriately
• Maintain clean and organized baking stations, utensils, and equipment
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and allergen-handling procedures
• Restock ingredients and communicate supply needs to supervisors
• Assist with receiving and storing bakery ingredients and deliveries
• Minimize food waste through accurate measuring and proper storage
• Support daily opening, closing, and cleaning procedures
• Work with kitchen and service teams to fulfill product requests efficiently

Qualifications

• Previous bakery, pastry, food preparation, or kitchen experience preferred
• Interest in Italian breads, pastries, and traditional baking methods
• Basic knowledge of ingredient measurements and baking procedures
• Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food storage
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn new baking techniques
• Ability to stand for extended periods and handle routine bakery tasks
