Italian Restaurant Purchasing Coordinator

Job Summary

Bella Napoli is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Italian Restaurant Purchasing Coordinator to manage purchasing activities, coordinate supplier orders, and help maintain adequate inventory for daily restaurant operations. The ideal candidate will support kitchen and management teams by sourcing quality ingredients, monitoring stock levels, tracking deliveries, and ensuring purchasing activities align with the restaurant’s quality and budget requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate purchasing activities for food, beverages, kitchen supplies, and restaurant equipment
• Communicate with suppliers and vendors regarding pricing, product availability, and delivery schedules
• Prepare and submit purchase orders based on inventory needs
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment of essential ingredients
• Source fresh produce, meats, cheeses, pasta, sauces, and other Italian cuisine ingredients
• Verify deliveries against purchase orders and invoices
• Inspect incoming products for quality, quantity, and freshness
• Maintain accurate purchasing, inventory, and supplier records
• Compare supplier prices and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Coordinate with chefs and kitchen staff to anticipate ingredient requirements
• Track order status and resolve purchasing or delivery discrepancies
• Assist with inventory counts and purchasing reports
• Follow food safety, storage, and company purchasing procedures
• Build positive working relationships with suppliers and internal teams

Qualifications

• Previous purchasing, procurement, inventory, or restaurant operations experience preferred
• Knowledge of food purchasing and restaurant supply procedures
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with spreadsheets or inventory systems
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple orders and deadlines
• Understanding of food quality, freshness, and proper storage practices
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Interest in Italian cuisine or restaurant operations is an advantage
