Italian Takeout Coordinator

Job Summary

Cafe Spaghetti is seeking an Italian Takeout Coordinator to manage and coordinate takeaway and pickup orders while supporting efficient restaurant operations. This role helps ensure orders are entered accurately, prepared and packaged correctly, organized for pickup, and delivered to customers promptly. The coordinator works closely with kitchen staff, counter employees, and management to maintain service quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily takeaway, pickup, and online food orders.
• Enter customer orders accurately into the restaurant's POS or order management system.
• Communicate order details and special requests to kitchen staff.
• Monitor preparation times and follow up on delayed orders.
• Verify completed orders for accuracy, completeness, and presentation.
• Package Italian dishes, sauces, sides, and other menu items according to service standards.
• Organize pickup orders and ensure they are clearly labeled.
• Coordinate pickup timing with customers and delivery personnel when applicable.
• Respond to customer inquiries about menus, orders, and pickup procedures.
• Resolve routine order discrepancies and communicate complex concerns to management.
• Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked takeout and counter areas.
• Restock packaging, containers, utensils, condiments, and other service supplies.
• Maintain accurate order records and follow cash-handling procedures when required.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, allergen-awareness, and workplace safety procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous restaurant, takeout, food service, hospitality, or customer service experience is an asset.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Good attention to detail and order accuracy.
• Basic computer, POS, and order-processing proficiency.
• Ability to manage multiple orders in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and handle food packages safely.

Preferred Skills

• Experience coordinating restaurant takeaway or online ordering operations.
• Familiarity with POS systems, online ordering platforms, and pickup workflows.
• Knowledge of Italian menu items and common food service terminology.
