Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
• Handle chemical agents safely by following established chemical handling safety procedures to ensure effective sanitation without compromising safety.
• Conduct heavy lifting tasks with proper safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness by sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restocking supplies in designated areas.
• Use custodial equipment efficiently to ensure optimal cleaning results and facility appearance.
• Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning and maintenance activities to prevent accidents or injuries.
• Support basic facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting to uphold the facility’s aesthetic standards.

Experience

• Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial, industrial, or residential settings is preferred.
• Familiarity with cleaning techniques including floor care, buffing, and sanitation procedures.
• Experience handling cleaning chemicals safely and understanding chemical safety procedures.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment operation such as floor buffers and industrial cleaning tools.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while adhering to safety guidelines.
• Customer service skills are valuable for interacting professionally with staff and visitors when needed.
• Previous porter or facilities maintenance experience is a plus for supporting broader building upkeep activities.

Pay: $24.71 - $29.76 per hour
