Experienced Healthcare Janitor with Floor Care Experience

Golden Crest Nursing Centre is seeking a dependable, experienced, and hardworking Full-Time Janitor to join our Environmental Services team. The ideal candidate has prior healthcare janitorial experience, hands-on professional floor care experience, and a strong commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance throughout the facility.
• Strip, wax, buff, scrub, refinish, and otherwise maintain floors using commercial floor care equipment.
• Maintain clean, safe, and sanitary conditions in resident rooms, hallways, common areas, and other designated spaces.
• Follow established infection control procedures and healthcare sanitation standards.
• Properly operate, clean, and maintain equipment and supplies.
• Identify and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and areas requiring attention.
• Follow facility policies and procedures to support resident safety and regulatory compliance.
• Assist the Environmental Services team with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial experience in a healthcare setting is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with floor care, including stripping, waxing, buffing, and refinishing, is required.
• Knowledge of commercial floor care equipment and cleaning chemicals.
• Understanding of infection control and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities efficiently.
• Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and operating floor care equipment.

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
