Job Description

Acuity Total Solutions is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Full-Time Janitor to join our team at a federal facility in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and sanitary facilities while following established cleaning procedures, safety guidelines, and contract requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain offices, restrooms, hallways, entrances, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors.
• Clean, disinfect, and restock restrooms.
• Empty trash containers and properly dispose of waste.
• Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, and frequently touched surfaces.
• Operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning products safely.
• Maintain cleaning supplies and report shortages.
• Report maintenance concerns and safety hazards to management.
• Follow assigned cleaning schedules and workplace safety procedures.
• Perform other related janitorial duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to perform cleaning duties involving standing, walking, bending, and lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and properly handle cleaning supplies.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly Pay: $17.75 per hour.
• Health & Welfare: $5.09 per eligible hour, up to 40 hours per week, provided in accordance with applicable Service Contract Act requirements.
• Paid Vacation: Two weeks after one year of qualifying service, increasing to three weeks after eight years, four weeks after fifteen years, and five weeks after twenty-five years, in accordance with applicable SCA requirements.
• Paid Holidays: Eleven paid holidays annually, subject to applicable contract requirements.
• Paid Sick Leave: Accrual of one hour for every 30 hours worked, up to 56 hours annually, in accordance with applicable federal requirements and company policy.
• Biweekly Pay Schedule.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position consisting of 40 hours per week. Specific workdays and shift hours will be discussed during the hiring process.
