Janitor/Cleaner

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment
• Operate and maintain cleaning tools such as floor buffers, vacuums, mops, and other custodial equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling procedures and safety protocols to prevent accidents or contamination
• Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely when moving furniture, supplies, or equipment in accordance with safe lifting practices
• Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting surfaces, restrooms, and high-touch areas regularly throughout the day
• Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or reporting larger repairs needed to facilities management
• Support facilities maintenance efforts by ensuring floors are properly cared for through buffing and floor care techniques

Qualifications

• Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and chemical handling safety procedures
• Experience operating cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and commercial vacuums
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting with proper safety practices
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
• Customer service mindset with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or residential painting is a plus
