Janitor/Cleaner

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning and custodial tasks to ensure the highest standards of sanitation and cleanliness are upheld. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and committed to creating a hygienic space for staff, visitors, and clients alike. Duties

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all areas of the facility.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuum cleaners efficiently and safely.
• Handle chemical agents safely by following proper handling procedures and safety protocols to ensure effective sanitation without hazards.
• Maintain floors through buffing, polishing, and other floor care techniques to preserve their appearance and safety standards.
• Conduct sanitation of restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to meet health regulations and cleanliness expectations.
• Assist with light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, minor repairs, or painting as needed for facility upkeep.
• Follow all safety protocols during manual handling of heavy items or equipment to prevent injuries and ensure safe lifting practices.

Qualifications

• Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred; familiarity with commercial or industrial cleaning is a plus.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and custodial equipment operation.
• Ability to handle chemical agents safely by adhering to chemical handling safety procedures.
• Physical capability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Customer service skills are beneficial for interacting professionally with staff or visitors when necessary.
