Janitor/Cleaner

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. This vital role involves performing a variety of cleaning and custodial tasks to ensure all areas are hygienic, well-maintained, and meet safety standards. Duties

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas.
• Handle chemical agents safely while using cleaning supplies and equipment, adhering strictly to safety protocols.
• Operate various cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and carpet cleaners to maintain floors and surfaces in pristine condition.
• Conduct sanitation procedures in restrooms, kitchens, and common areas to ensure compliance with health standards.
• Assist with light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fixing minor repairs, or reporting larger issues for resolution.
• Follow safety procedures during heavy lifting or manual handling activities to prevent injuries.
• Support facilities maintenance efforts by ensuring cleaning supplies are stocked and equipment is properly maintained.

Experience

• Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings preferred.
• Familiarity with cleaning techniques including floor care, buffing, and sanitation practices.
• Experience handling chemical agents safely according to chemical handling safety procedures.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment operation such as floor buffers and industrial vacuums.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following safe lifting practices.
• Customer service skills are a plus for interacting professionally with staff or visitors when needed.
• Prior porter experience or residential painting background is advantageous but not required.

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
