Janitor/Cleaner

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment across our facilities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and custodial tasks to ensure all areas are spotless, organized, and compliant with safety standards. Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
• Handle chemical agents safely, following all chemical handling safety procedures to prevent accidents or contamination.
• Conduct sanitation procedures including trash removal, dusting, disinfecting surfaces, and replenishing supplies in restrooms and kitchens.
• Operate cleaning machinery and tools efficiently while adhering to safe lifting practices during heavy lifting or manual handling tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness standards by inspecting work areas regularly and addressing any issues promptly.
• Follow safety protocols consistently to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and others.
• Assist with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting as needed to support overall building upkeep.

Experience

• Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment including floor buffers, vacuums, and steam cleaners.
• Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures and sanitation standards.
• Experience with heavy lifting and manual handling in accordance with safe lifting practices.
• Strong understanding of safety protocol adherence within facilities maintenance environments.
• Customer service skills are a plus for interacting professionally with staff and visitors during cleaning routines.
• Previous porter or maintenance experience is advantageous for supporting broader facility operations.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 40.0 per week
