Janitor/Cleaner

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment across our facilities. Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all areas of the facility
• Handle chemical agents safely while using cleaning supplies and equipment, following all safety protocols and handling procedures
• Operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and other custodial equipment to maintain floors and surfaces in pristine condition
• Conduct sanitation of restrooms, kitchens, and common areas ensuring compliance with health standards
• Assist with light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, minor repairs, or painting as needed
• Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy cleaning equipment or supplies to prevent injury
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when stock is low or needs replenishment

Qualifications

• Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and chemical handling safety procedures
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment including floor buffers and other custodial tools effectively
• Strong manual handling skills with an emphasis on safe lifting practices for heavy items or equipment
• Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards
• Good communication skills with a customer service-oriented attitude when interacting with staff or visitors
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety protocols
