Janitor/Cleaner

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in one or two buildings.

This position is just 7-10 hours per week in the late evenings between 8:30-10:30pm Monday- Friday. All federal holidays are paid time off.

In this vital role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and custodial tasks to ensure the highest standards of sanitation and cleanliness are upheld. Your efforts will contribute directly to creating a healthy workspace for employees, visitors, and clients alike. Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all areas of the facility.
• Handle various cleaning agents and chemicals safely, following all chemical handling safety procedures and protocols.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial tools efficiently.
• Maintain floors through buffing, polishing, and proper floor care techniques to ensure a pristine appearance.
• Conduct sanitation procedures in restrooms, kitchens, and high-touch surfaces to promote hygiene standards.
• Follow safety protocols diligently during all cleaning activities, including heavy lifting and manual handling practices to prevent injuries.

Requirements

• Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and chemical agent handling safety procedures.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting with safe lifting practices.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on sanitation and cleanliness standards.
• Excellent time management skills to complete assigned tasks efficiently within scheduled shifts.
• Customer service orientation with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Familiarity with facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning is preferred.
• Prior experience with floor buffers and floor care techniques is advantageous.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
