Janitor/Cleaner

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitor/Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our facilities. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure all areas are hygienic, well-maintained, and compliant with safety standards. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional custodial services that support the overall facility operations. Additional hours available upon request. Possibility to grow into a manager's position and pay will reflect position responsibilities. Must be able to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal across all designated areas.
• Handle cleaning chemicals and agents safely following established safety protocols and handling procedures.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums to maintain floors and surfaces in pristine condition.
• Conduct sanitation procedures in high-touch areas to ensure hygiene standards are met.
• Follow safety guidelines for heavy lifting and manual handling to prevent injuries during custodial tasks.
• Report any facility maintenance issues promptly.

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial or industrial cleaning environments with strong janitorial skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, custodial equipment operation, and floor care including buffing and polishing.
• Ability to handle chemical agents safely while adhering to chemical handling safety procedures.
• Familiarity with sanitation standards and safety protocols related to facilities maintenance.
• Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors.
• Physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions precisely and ensure thorough cleanliness.
