Janitor/Cleaner

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our facilities. This role involves performing routine cleaning tasks to ensure a hygienic environment for staff and visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating cleaning equipment, handling chemicals safely, and maintaining floors and other surfaces to high standards. This position offers an essential service that contributes to the overall well-being and professionalism of our organization.

Duties

• Operate various cleaning equipment to efficiently clean and maintain different areas within the facility.
• Perform floor care tasks, including sweeping, mopping, buffing, and polishing to keep floors safe and presentable.
• Conduct facilities maintenance duties as needed, addressing minor repairs or reporting issues to appropriate personnel.
• Handle cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety procedures, ensuring proper storage, usage, and disposal to prevent hazards.
• Engage in heavy lifting tasks when moving furniture, supplies, or equipment to facilitate cleaning operations.
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, common areas, offices, and other designated spaces.
• Ensure all cleaning activities comply with safety standards and organizational policies.

Experience

• Prior experience in janitorial or custodial work is preferred but not required; training will be provided for specific equipment and safety protocols.
• Knowledge of chemical handling safety procedures is advantageous.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability in completing assigned tasks.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
