Janitor/Cleaner

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
• Handle chemical agents safely, following all safety protocols for cleaning solutions and sanitation products.
• Conduct manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of supplies, furniture, or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices.
• Maintain facilities by performing custodial duties such as trash removal, dusting, window cleaning, and surface sanitation.
• Operate cleaning machinery efficiently and responsibly to ensure optimal floor care and buffing results.
• Follow established safety procedures during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or injuries.
• Support general maintenance tasks as needed, including minor repairs or reporting larger issues requiring specialized attention.

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial or residential cleaning environments with strong custodial skills.
• Knowledge of proper chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation standards.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and other janitorial tools effectively.
• Familiarity with facilities maintenance practices and basic repair techniques.
• Excellent manual handling skills with an emphasis on safe lifting practices for heavy objects.
• Strong customer service mindset to interact politely with staff and visitors when necessary.
• Prior janitorial or porter experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate.
