Janitor/Cleaner

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Janitor/Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure a hygienic, organized, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will help uphold our high standards of sanitation and facility maintenance, creating a positive space for everyone.

Duties

• Perform routine cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
• Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning procedures, adhering strictly to chemical handling safety protocols.
• Conduct heavy lifting tasks following safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or waste bins as needed.
• Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting surfaces, trash removal, and restocking supplies in restrooms and break areas.
• Operate custodial equipment including vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners to ensure thorough cleaning.
• Follow safety protocols during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or injuries.
• Washing trays, buckets and other items and closing down the dishwasher.

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial or residential cleaning environments with strong custodial skills.
• Knowledge of janitorial procedures, sanitation standards, and proper chemical handling safety procedures.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment like floor buffers, vacuums, and dishwasher.
• Physical strength and stamina for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking.
• Excellent attention to detail with a focus on maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Good communication skills with a customer service-oriented attitude when interacting with staff or visitors.
• Ability to work independently.
• MUST BE over 18.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 20.0 per week
