Janitor/Cleaner

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to join our facilities maintenance team. In this vital role, you will ensure that our environment remains clean, safe, and welcoming for all visitors and staff. Your proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance will help uphold our high standards of sanitation and facility care, contributing to a positive and productive atmosphere. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with janitorial experience who are eager to maintain cleanliness and safety across various settings. You will be required to drive from job site to job site on each route.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal to maintain cleanliness throughout the facility
• Handle chemical agents safely during cleaning processes, adhering strictly to chemical handling safety procedures
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums to ensure thorough sanitation and floor care
• Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of supplies, furniture, and equipment following safe lifting practices
• Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting restrooms, kitchens, and common areas regularly
• Assist with custodial duties related to industrial or commercial cleaning projects as needed
• Follow all safety protocols during cleaning activities to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment

Qualifications

• Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and chemical handling safety procedures
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on sanitation and cleanliness standards
• Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when necessary
• Familiarity with facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting is a plus
• Ability to work independently while following safety protocols diligently
