Janitor/Cleaner

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to join our facilities maintenance team. Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas including restrooms, hallways, fitness center, gymnasium and common spaces using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment
• Operate floor scrubbers, vacuums, and other custodial tools to maintain floor care.
• Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures and safety protocol adherence
• Conduct manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of supplies, furniture, or equipment while practicing safe lifting practices
• Maintain sanitation standards by disinfecting surfaces, trash removal, and restocking supplies to ensure a hygienic environment
• Assist with basic facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or reporting issues requiring professional attention
• Support custodial operations during special cleaning projects or after-hours cleaning schedules to minimize disruption

Qualifications

• Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques and sanitation practices
• Ability to handle chemical agents safely following safety protocol procedures
• Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting (not exceeding 25 lbs.) and prolonged standing or walking
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
• Customer service skills are a plus for interacting professionally with staff and members

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12.0 – 16.0 per week
