Janitor/Cleaner - Shift Lead

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Janitorial Team Member to lead our morning shift (7-9am) to lead our cleaning and sanitation teams in maintaining a safe, spotless, and welcoming environment across various facilities. In this role, you will oversee daily custodial operations, manage staff performance, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and uphold the highest standards of cleanliness in commercial, industrial, and hospitality settings.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate janitorial staff to ensure cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and to standard across all assigned areas.
• Conduct inspections of work sites to verify adherence to sanitation protocols, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Train new team members on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and sanitation management practices.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring proper usage and timely replenishment.
• Enforce safety regulations and promote a culture of safety awareness among staff to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Communicate effectively with clients or facility managers to address specific cleaning needs or concerns promptly.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in custodial or janitorial roles with a strong background in industrial or commercial cleaning environments.
• Demonstrated supervisory or team management experience within a cleaning or hospitality setting.
• Knowledge of sanitation standards, safety regulations, and cleaning & sanitation management practices.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
• Strong communication skills for managerial interactions, staff supervision, and customer service.
• Familiarity with laundry services or housekeeper management is a plus.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced environments.
