About the Role:

The Janitor plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of commercial buildings and surrounding grounds. This position ensures that all facilities are hygienic, orderly, and well-maintained to provide a welcoming environment for employees, clients, and visitors. The Janitor will be responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks, including janitorial duties, landscaping, and handling equipment safely. Additionally, the role involves operating box trucks for transporting supplies and utilizing basic computer skills for reporting and scheduling. Ultimately, the Janitor contributes to the smooth operation and positive image of the organization by upholding high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven experience in janitorial duties within commercial buildings or similar environments.
• Ability to safely lift and carry heavy weights regularly.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record to operate box trucks.
• Basic computer literacy to perform data entry and communicate via email or work management systems.
• Knowledge of safety procedures related to cleaning chemicals, equipment operation, and workplace hazards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with landscaping and lawn care equipment and techniques.
• Familiarity with cleaning and maintaining stainless steel surfaces.
• Certification in workplace safety or OSHA training.
• Previous experience working in a facilities maintenance or custodial role in a commercial setting.
• Ability to troubleshoot minor maintenance issues and perform basic repairs.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning restrooms in commercial buildings.
• Maintain and care for landscaping and lawn areas, including mowing, trimming, and general upkeep.
• Safely lift and carry heavy objects and equipment as needed to support cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Operate box trucks to transport cleaning supplies, equipment, and waste materials efficiently and safely.
• Follow established safety procedures to ensure a hazard-free environment for all building occupants.
• Use basic computer skills to log work activities, report maintenance issues, and manage schedules.
• Clean and maintain stainless steel surfaces and other specialized materials to preserve their appearance and longevity.
