Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
• Handle chemical agents safely by following all chemical handling safety procedures to ensure effective sanitation without risk.
• Conduct heavy lifting tasks using safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment as needed for cleaning or maintenance purposes.
• Maintain cleanliness standards by sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal throughout assigned areas.
• Operate custodial equipment efficiently while adhering to safety protocols to prevent accidents or damage.
• Support facilities maintenance activities including minor repairs and reporting larger issues for prompt resolution.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing cleaning requests promptly and courteously for staff or visitors.

Experience

• Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial, industrial, or residential settings is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with cleaning techniques such as floor buffing, sanitation procedures, and use of cleaning equipment is essential.
• Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures and proper use of cleaning chemicals is required.
• Experience with heavy lifting and manual handling tasks while following safe lifting practices ensures efficiency and safety on the job.
• Background in facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning enhances ability to perform diverse custodial responsibilities effectively.
• Strong understanding of safety protocol adherence related to chemical handling and equipment operation is necessary.
• Customer service skills are valued for interacting professionally with colleagues and building occupants.
