Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Janitorial/Set Up Technician to maintain cleanliness and assist with event or facility setup. This role is vital in ensuring a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and clients. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding high standards of sanitation and facility maintenance. You will play a key part in creating a positive experience through effective cleaning, proper handling of cleaning supplies, and efficient setup procedures.

Duties

• Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents, ensuring sanitation standards are met.
• Handle custodial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and disinfecting surfaces to maintain a hygienic environment.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of event spaces or facilities by arranging furniture, equipment, and supplies according to specifications.
• Safely handle chemical agents following safety protocols to prevent accidents or contamination during cleaning processes.
• Conduct manual handling tasks including heavy lifting of furniture or equipment while adhering to safe lifting practices.
• Maintain cleaning supplies and equipment in good working order; report any malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
• Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure personal safety and that of colleagues; participate in safety training sessions regularly.
• Support general facilities maintenance activities as needed to ensure the environment remains functional and welcoming.

Skills

• Proven janitorial experience with knowledge of commercial or industrial cleaning procedures.
• Skilled in handling chemical agents safely with understanding of chemical handling safety procedures.
• Experience operating cleaning equipment such as vacuums, and other custodial tools.
• Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy objects safely while following proper lifting practices.
• Excellent attention to detail with a focus on sanitation standards and cleanliness.
• Good customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors during setup or cleaning activities.
• Knowledge of facilities maintenance tasks including basic repairs or troubleshooting when necessary.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of safety protocol adherence.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
