About the Company

Our client is a fast-growing energy trading and analytics organization focused on power market intelligence, quantitative analysis, and commercial decision-making across energy markets. Due to continued growth in Japan, they are seeking a Power Analyst to join their Tokyo office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fundamental analysis of the Japanese power market, including supply-demand dynamics, generation fleet behavior, fuel markets, and regulatory developments.
• Develop and maintain forecasting models for power prices, load, renewable generation, and market fundamentals.
• Utilize programming and data analytics tools to automate workflows and improve market insights.
• Collaborate with commercial, trading, and research teams to support strategic and trading decisions.

Requirements

• Experience analyzing Japanese electricity markets, power systems, or related energy sectors.
• Strong understanding of power market fundamentals, generation technologies, and market drivers.
• Technical capability with coding and data analysis tools (Python preferred).
• Fluent Japanese language skills.
• Willingness to work full-time from the Tokyo office.
