Japanese Kitchen Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Japanese Kitchen Sushi&Menu helper to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation of sushi, sushi roll, bento, noodles while ensuring a clean and organized kitchen environment. This role is essential in supporting our chefs and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.

Duties

• Assist in the preparation of sushi ingredients, including slicing fish and vegetables, cooking rice, and preparing sauces.
• Support chefs in assembling sushi rolls and other menu items with precision and care.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients.
• Follow food safety protocols to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and sanitation are met.
• Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors of any shortages.
• Participate in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and popular dishes.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient service during peak hours.

Skills

• Experience in the Japanese restaurant or similar kitchen is preferred.
• Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant or culinary setting.
• Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety regulations is essential.
• Culinary experience with knife skills is highly valued.
• Familiarity with meal preparation techniques, catering services, and serving practices will enhance your candidacy.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
