Japanese Tutor

Crystelle Tutors is a specialist online language tuition provider, currently offering French and Spanish and expanding into a number of other languages including Japanese.

We are looking for an exceptional Japanese tutor to join our growing team and work with students and adults with a wide range of goals, from academic achievement and formal examinations to fluency, conversation, travel, work and personal enrichment.

We are particularly interested in tutors who can provide structured, measurable language progression, supporting learners from beginner A1 and A2 through to advanced C1 and C2, using the CEFR framework where appropriate, as well as preparing students for recognised Japanese language qualifications.

The role

• Deliver engaging, high quality one to one online Japanese lessons tailored to each learner's goals and level.
• Teach speaking, listening, reading and writing, developing both confidence and accuracy.
• Work with learners of different ages, abilities and backgrounds.
• Support structured progression through CEFR levels A1 to C2 where appropriate.
• Prepare students for relevant Japanese examinations and qualifications, including GCSE Japanese where applicable, as well as the JLPT.
• Adapt lessons to each learner's interests, needs and learning style.
• Provide thoughtful feedback and maintain excellent standards of preparation and communication.

About you

• Native or near native Japanese proficiency with excellent command of the language.
• Strong experience teaching or tutoring Japanese.
• Excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for language education.
• Warm, engaging and able to build strong relationships with learners.
• Comfortable teaching both practical communication and structured language development.
• Experience preparing students for formal examinations or qualifications is desirable.
• Familiarity with the CEFR framework and JLPT levels is desirable.
• A relevant degree and/or teaching qualification is preferred.
• Enhanced DBS required.
