Java Architect - Immediate joiner only & F2F Mandatory

We are seeking an accomplished Java Backend Architect to lead the design, modernization, and delivery of large-scale, cloud-native platforms. You will define end-to-end backend architecture, establish engineering standards, and guide cross-functional teams in building secure, resilient, and high-performance distributed systems.

This is a hands-on architecture leadership role requiring deep expertise in Java, microservices, event-driven design, cloud platforms, and enterprise integration patterns.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the backend solution architecture for complex, mission-critical enterprise applications.
• Design scalable, loosely coupled microservices using Java 17/21, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and modern design patterns.
• Lead high-level and detailed design activities, including architecture decision records, solution documents, API contracts, and integration blueprints.
• Architect event-driven systems using Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or equivalent messaging and streaming technologies.
• Design RESTful and GraphQL APIs with strong focus on versioning, security, performance, observability, and developer experience.
• Lead modernization of legacy monolithic applications into cloud-native, domain-driven microservices.
• Define data architecture and persistence strategies across relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB.
• Establish caching, resilience, fault-tolerance, and performance-tuning strategies using Redis, Hazelcast, circuit breakers, rate limiting, and asynchronous processing.
• Guide cloud-native deployment and operations on AWS, Azure, or GCP using Docker, Kubernetes, serverless components, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Drive CI/CD maturity through automated build, test, deployment, and release pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Define observability standards using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, distributed tracing, and application performance monitoring.
• Establish security-by-design practices, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, IAM, encryption, secrets management, and secure API gateways.
• Conduct architecture reviews, technical design reviews, and code reviews; resolve high-impact production issues through root-cause analysis.
• Mentor senior engineers and technical leads, promote engineering best practices, and influence technology adoption across teams.
• Partner with product, infrastructure, security, data, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development tools, and recommend practical adoption aligned with engineering goals.

Required Skills and Experience

• 10–15 years of overall software engineering experience, with at least 5–7 years in backend architecture or technical leadership.
• Expert-level proficiency in Java 11/17/21, including concurrency, multithreading, streams, virtual threads, JVM performance, and functional programming.
• Deep hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, Spring Data, Hibernate/JPA, and REST API design.
• Proven experience architecting and delivering distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Strong expertise with Apache Kafka, including topic design, consumer groups, partitioning, idempotency, exactly-once considerations, and stream processing.
• Strong understanding of DDD, CQRS, Saga patterns, API-led integration, eventual consistency, and distributed transaction handling.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Solid knowledge of caching strategies, load balancing, horizontal scaling, high availability, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, Git-based workflows, and automated testing strategies.
• Strong understanding of application security, identity and access management, API security, and secure cloud architecture.
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Zipkin, Jaeger, or cloud-native monitoring services.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
