Java Back End Developer

Preferred Qualifications

**Required

• 6–12 years of professional software engineering experience depending on level.

• Candidates with 4 to 6 years’ experience will typically be considered for Senior Member Technical (P2)

• Candidates with 6 to 12 years’ experience demonstrating greater technical leadership may be considered for Technology Lead (P3).

• More experienced candidates may also mentor junior engineers, contribute to technical direction, participate in architectural discussions and help drive engineering best practices across the team.

• Strong commercial experience developing enterprise applications using Java 8+, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, REST APIs and microservices.

• Experience designing and developing REST APIs.

• Experience building distributed or cloud-native applications.

• Experience with Git-based source control, Maven, AWS and one or more major RDBMS, preferably PostgreSQL.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to show flexibility and reach compromise where appropriate,

• Proven experience working with Agile SDLC methodologies and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban),

• Experience working within CI/CD pipelines, automated testing practices and modern DevOps environments.

• Willingness to take ownership for assigned aspects of the project(s) and proven ability to work constructively in a shared team environment,

• Primary or Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline,

• Full Professional Proficiency of English.**

Roles and Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain scalable Java-based microservices using Spring Boot on AWS cloud platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify requirements and implement solutions that meet business needs.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, security and performance of the system by implementing monitoring tools such as Prometheus/Grafana/ELK stack.
• Troubleshoot issues related to containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).

Job Requirements :

• 6-14 years of experience in software development with expertise in Java programming language.
• Strong understanding of REST API development using Spring Boot framework.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS including services like EC2, S3, EBS etc.
