Java Backend Engineer

Role Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Backend Engineer with strong experience in building scalable, secure, and high-performance systems. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in system design, containerization, authentication mechanisms, and handling high-throughput platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend systems and APIs
• Build and manage containerized environments using Docker
• Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms
• Develop systems capable of handling high-throughput and peak traffic loads
• Work with API gateways to manage routing, security, and scalability
• Ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability
• Write clean, testable code with proper JUnit test coverage
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams

Required Skills:

• Strong experience in Docker environment setup and containerization

• Strong understanding of stateless system design principles

• Strong knowledge of Authentication & Authorization (AuthN/AuthZ) and when to use each approach

• Experience in building medium to large-scale distributed systems

• Experience handling high-throughput systems:

• Using queue-based architectures for peak traffic

• Strong understanding of API Gateway concepts:

• What, why, and how to manage

• Ability to write JUnit test cases

Good to Have:

• Experience with API Gateways such as:

• Apache APISIX

• AWS API Gateway

• Knowledge of workflow engines (e.g., Kestra.io)

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)

• Experience with microservices architecture
