Java Data Engineer

Java Data Engineer | Netherlands | Contract

We are looking for an experienced Java Data Engineer to join a large enterprise organisation in the Netherlands, working on the development of scalable, reliable data solutions within a modern Agile/DevOps environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and applications using Java.
• Build and integrate REST APIs and data processing solutions.
• Develop complex SQL queries and optimise database performance.
• Ensure data quality, security and reliability across enterprise systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver data-driven solutions.

Technical Requirements

• Strong Java development experience (ideally Java 17+).
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and REST APIs.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with Oracle or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with data modelling and large-scale data processing.
• Familiarity with Git, Maven, Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
• Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments.

Desirable Skills

• Azure cloud technologies.
• Kafka, streaming and event-driven architectures.
• Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience within enterprise Data & Analytics environments.
