In this dynamic position, you will be instrumental in analyzing, optimizing, and enhancing the performance of critical software infrastructure. You’ll dive deep into code, diagnose bottlenecks, and architect solutions that elevate system performance, stability, and responsiveness. This role offers the unique opportunity to influence architectural decisions and implement improvements across diverse environments, from client-side to cloud, playing a key role in the success of the platform.

What You’ll Do

• Code performance test scripts in Core Java and develop/maintain Unix shell and Python-based frameworks.
• Develop custom tooling, create mock services, and manage the tool repository to support performance initiatives.
• Collaborate with project owners and stakeholders to gather and analyze performance requirements.
• Write comprehensive performance test plans, execute tests, monitor application behavior, and pinpoint code-level performance bottlenecks.
• Identify and collect crucial system performance metrics.
• Address client-side and server-side performance issues, recommending and implementing enhancements for resiliency and tuning.
• Provide expert solutions for production monitoring.
• Quickly understand complex codebases and navigate ambiguous design constraints to deliver effective solutions.
• Develop a deeper understanding of system architecture to devise unique, scalable solutions that optimize the user experience.
• Partner with the Performance QA team to conduct rigorous test runs, stressing system capabilities and identifying performance limitations at the code level.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience with Java, J2EE (client and server side), Spring framework, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud development.
• 5+ years of experience with distributed systems/software, real-time processing, relational database systems, and messaging systems.
• Strong Linux background, including extensive experience in shell scripting.
• Demonstrated expertise in concurrency and multi-threading.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Proven experience troubleshooting and diagnosing JVM issues (e.g., thread dumps, garbage collection, memory management).
• Experience with resiliency implementations such as CircuitBreakers, Shapers, LoadBalancers, and Failover.
• Hands-on experience with Java-based, high-throughput, low-latency, real-time systems.
• Proficiency in using monitoring tools like Splunk and Grafana.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate alternatives and provide solutions consistent with strategic objectives.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices, including best practices for the full software development life cycle, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Highly motivated, self-starting individual capable of making effective independent decisions.
