About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic team at Version 1. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance Java applications that support our clients' digital transformation goals. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in Java development, extensive experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS), and a strong understanding of database management and batch processing systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex, cloud-based solutions that require innovative thinking, technical expertise, and a collaborative approach. As a senior member of the team, you will also mentor junior developers, contribute to best practices, and help shape the technical direction of our projects.

Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 7+ years of proven experience as a Java Developer in product development or service environments is essential. You should have at least 3+ years of hands-on experience working with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, and EventBridge. Additionally, a minimum of 5+ years of experience with relational databases like Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL, including writing complex SQL queries and troubleshooting performance issues, is required. Proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Hibernate, and RESTful API development is necessary. Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset are also critical for success. Preferred qualifications include hands-on experience with batch processing frameworks and tools, as well as a minimum of 2 years of Python experience. An SC clearance is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, scalable, and efficient Java applications aligned with project requirements and best practices.
• Utilize AWS services to build, deploy, and optimize cloud-based solutions, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability.
• Design, implement, and maintain complex database schemas, write optimized SQL queries, and troubleshoot database performance issues.
• Develop and manage batch processing systems to handle large data volumes efficiently, ensuring reliable and timely data processing.
• Conduct code reviews, implement unit testing, and adhere to coding standards to maintain high code quality and facilitate maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, QA engineers, and other developers to deliver high-quality software solutions on time.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and other technical issues to ensure optimal application performance.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and technical excellence.
