Java Developer (Híbrido Lisboa)

Project

A Backend Developer role focused on the development, maintenance and evolution of enterprise applications, contributing to the delivery of robust, scalable and modern backend solutions. The mission combines software development, technical leadership, innovation and knowledge sharing, supporting both project delivery and application lifecycle management.

The role involves close collaboration with Product Owners, development teams and production support teams, while also promoting the adoption of AI-assisted development practices, software engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Role

• Develop and maintain backend applications and services
• Design and implement scalable and maintainable technical solutions
• Identify and promote application development best practices
• Contribute to the adoption of AI tools and technologies to improve software development efficiency
• Produce and maintain technical documentation
• Support junior developers through mentoring, task allocation and delivery follow-up
• Ensure code quality and adherence to development standards
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners to understand and deliver business requirements
• Contribute to application architecture and technical decision-making
• Support knowledge transfer activities to Production Support teams
• Ensure maintainability, scalability and reliability of developed solutions
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and development activities
• Contribute to continuous improvement and modernization initiatives
• Support application deployment and lifecycle management processes

• Experience in Backend Development roles
• Strong experience developing enterprise applications
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
• Experience collaborating with Product Owners and multidisciplinary teams
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior developers
• Experience producing technical documentation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to identify and implement technical improvements and best practices
• Interest in AI-assisted software development tools and practices
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing to team success

Technical Skills

• Java 17 or higher
• Spring Boot
• Hibernate
• REST APIs
• Git
• Queue Messaging technologies (e.g. Kafka)
• Docker
• Kubernetes
• Cloud platforms (Azure or AWS preferred)
• Relational and NoSQL databases, including:
• Oracle
• PostgreSQL
• MongoDB

Valued

• Experience in Banking environments
• Knowledge of Document Management processes
• Knowledge of OCR technologies
• Knowledge of Generative AI solutions
• Experience with cloud-native architectures
• Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms
