Role & responsibilities

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and skilled Java Developer to join our IT/Software Development team. The candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, enhancing, and supporting Java-based applications. This role will provide an opportunity to work independently on application development as well as production support and future technology initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Java-based applications.
• Understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy application features and enhancements.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs and backend services.
• Work with Spring Boot and related Java frameworks.
• Write efficient and optimized SQL queries and work with relational databases.
• Troubleshoot application issues and provide timely production support.
• Identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and application defects.
• Coordinate with internal teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Perform unit testing, debugging, and code reviews to ensure application quality.
• Maintain technical documentation and application-related records.
• Support integration of applications with internal and external systems.
• Contribute to building Java development capabilities within the organization.

Required Skills

• Minimum 3 year of hands-on experience in Java development.
• Strong knowledge of Core Java concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot.
• Good understanding of REST APIs / Web Services.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
• Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Good debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Git/version control systems.
• Ability to understand existing applications and independently handle development and maintenance activities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in application development and production support.
• Knowledge of Microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with Hibernate/JPA.
• Basic understanding of HTML, JavaScript, or frontend technologies will be an advantage.
• Experience working with cloud platforms or deployment tools will be an added advantage.

Education

B.E./B.Tech/MCA/M.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
