Position: Senior Java Developer

Location: Lisbon / Hybrid

Job Summary: We are looking for a Senior Java Developer with at least 9 years of experience in backend application development to design, develop, and optimize robust, scalable, and secure software solutions. The role requires strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot , microservices, REST APIs, databases, automated testing, and CI/CD practices, combined with a strong focus on code quality, technical documentation, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and maintain microservices and RESTful APIs following modern software architecture principles.
• Analyze existing code, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement optimization solutions.
• Apply development best practices, including TDD, Clean Code, design patterns, and CI/CD.
• Develop and maintain unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure high standards of code quality.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and technical stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical specifications.
• Produce clear and structured technical documentation.
• Provide technical guidance, support, and knowledge sharing when required.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and practices.

R equirements:

• Minimum 9 years of professional experience in Java backend development.
• Advanced knowledge of Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience with microservices architectures, REST APIs, and design patterns.
• Solid experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI.
• Hands-on experience with JUnit and Mockito.
• Strong knowledge of TDD, Clean Code, and software development best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to contribute to code reviews and provide technical guidance.
• French C1/C2 level, both written and spoken, is mandatory.
