Java Developer with AI Spec-Driven Development with AWS / Azure

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer with strong expertise in AWS Cloud and AI-assisted, specification-driven software development. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying scalable enterprise applications using Java and AWS or Azure services.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop scalable and secure applications using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.
• Follow AI specification-driven development practices to convert business and technical requirements into detailed specifications, APIs, data models, code, and test cases.
• Use AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q Developer, Cursor, or similar tools for code generation, refactoring, documentation, debugging, and test creation.
• Design and implement cloud-native applications on AWS or Azure.
• Develop microservices, event-driven applications, and API-based integrations.
• Create technical specifications, interface contracts, acceptance criteria, and solution designs.
• Implement unit, integration, and automation tests for application components.
• Perform code reviews and validate AI-generated code for quality, security, performance, and maintainability.
• Work with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Troubleshoot application and production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security, governance, and banking standards.
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA teams, and other stakeholders in an Agile environment.

Required Skills

• 4.8–9 years of experience in Java application development.
• Strong proficiency in Java 8/11/17 or later.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and REST APIs.
• Strong experience developing microservices and distributed applications.
• Experience with SQL and databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Good understanding of Git, Maven/Gradle, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Strong understanding of application security, performance, scalability, and design patterns.

AI Spec-Driven Development Skills

• Experience converting requirements into technical specifications and executable development tasks.
• Knowledge of specification-first or contract-first development.
• Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger, API contracts, JSON schemas, and data models.
• Hands-on use of AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q Developer, Cursor, or CodeWhisperer.
• Ability to create effective prompts for:
  • Code generation
  • Refactoring
  • Debugging
  • Unit-test generation
  • API documentation
  • SQL generation
  • Technical design documentation
• Experience validating AI-generated code through code reviews, testing, security checks, and static analysis.
• Familiarity with TDD, BDD, automated testing, and CI/CD-enabled quality gates.
• Understanding of responsible AI practices, data privacy, security, and protection of sensitive banking information.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in banking, financial services, payments, or insurance domains.
• Knowledge of Kafka or other messaging platforms.
• Experience with AWS or Azure serverless and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Knowledge of observability tools and practices.
• Exposure to GenAI, LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or RAG-based applications.
• Experience working with enterprise-scale systems and production support.

Education

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
