Java Development manager, Trading System, Investment bank

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Bridge business requirements and core IT solutions through hands-on technical implementation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement applications across trading back-end systems, CRM integrations, and AI component developments.
• Translate business workflows and stakeholder requirements into technical specifications, architecture designs, and software deliverables.
• Ensure strict technical alignment across business users, engineering teams, and external vendors.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical research for proposed solutions.
• Design, code, and deploy robust IT solutions tailored to business requirements.
• Establish and manage detailed technical project timelines and delivery plans.
• Track development milestones and provide technical progress updates to management.
• Configure, establish, and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Support system enhancement projects, code refactoring, and ongoing application maintenance.
• Author technical documentation, system specs, and operational guides for end-users.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues in production and non-production environments.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: 10+ years of experience in software development / solution delivery using Java and SQL (candidates with less experience will be considered for Senior Java Developer level).
• Technical Core: Hands-on experience with Java development, SQL, and Linux environments.
• DevOps: Proven experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD deployment pipelines.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills in English, Mandarin is an advantage.
• Work Style: Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a technical team.
• Nice-to-Haves: Familiarity with AI development integration, CRM systems, Mandarin language proficiency, and willingness to travel to Shenzhen occasionally.

• Domain Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Equities High Touch trading, Program trading, and Market Connectivity.
• Tech Stack: Java, SQL, FIX protocol, Chronicle Queue, and Linux.
