Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Java Full Stack Developer to join our technology team supporting enterprise banking applications.

The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on development experience across Java backend services and frontend applications, combined with practical experience facilitating Agile/Scrum delivery, coordinating development teams, and engaging with business and technical stakeholders.

This role is suitable for a technically strong Full Stack Developer who can contribute to end-to-end application development while taking responsibility for Scrum ceremonies, sprint coordination, delivery tracking, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities1. Full Stack Application Development

• Design, develop, test, and maintain full stack applications for enterprise banking systems.
• Develop backend services, RESTful APIs, and microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build responsive, user-friendly frontend applications using modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React.
• Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs, databases, and enterprise systems.
• Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Perform coding, debugging, unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot application issues and support root-cause analysis and production incident resolution.
• Ensure application security, performance, scalability, and code quality.
• Maintain technical documentation and contribute to system design and architecture discussions.

2. Scrum Master / Agile Delivery

• Facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Retrospective.
• Coordinate sprint activities and track progress against delivery commitments.
• Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders.
• Support backlog refinement and ensure development tasks are aligned with sprint objectives.
• Identify, manage, and escalate blockers, risks, and dependencies affecting delivery.
• Monitor sprint progress, team velocity, delivery metrics, and commitments.
• Provide regular project updates and communicate delivery risks to stakeholders and management.
• Promote Agile best practices, team collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate across multiple technical and business teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Technical RequirementsMandatory Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in Java development.
• Strong knowledge of Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs, backend services, and microservices.
• Practical frontend development experience using Angular, React, or another modern JavaScript framework.
• Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), software design principles, and application architecture.
• Experience working with SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and the software development lifecycle.
• Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Previous experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Lead, Technical Lead, or development team facilitator.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Banking / Enterprise Experience

Experience in banking, financial services, fintech, or large-scale enterprise applications is highly preferred.

Candidates with experience in digital banking, payment systems, financial platforms, customer-facing applications, or other mission-critical enterprise systems will have an advantage.

Scrum Master Experience (if applicable)

Candidates should have practical experience in:

• Facilitating Scrum ceremonies and Agile ways of working.
• Sprint planning, execution, and progress tracking.
• Backlog refinement and prioritization support.
• Impediment, dependency, and risk management.
• Stakeholder coordination and delivery reporting.
• Team facilitation and cross-functional collaboration.
• Monitoring Agile delivery metrics and team velocity.
• Promoting continuous improvement and effective team practices.

A Scrum Master certification such as PSM, CSM, or an equivalent qualification is an advantage but is not mandatory for candidates with strong practical experience.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• A hands-on Java Full Stack Developer with experience across backend and frontend application development.
• Experienced in taking on Scrum Master or Agile delivery responsibilities.
• Comfortable balancing coding activities with sprint facilitation and team coordination.
• Able to collaborate effectively with developers, Product Owners, BAs, QA teams, and business stakeholders.
• Experienced in managing technical blockers, project dependencies, and delivery risks.
• Familiar with enterprise application architecture and structured SDLC processes.
• Able to work independently while supporting the delivery objectives of a development team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Relevant professional experience in Java Full Stack Development.
• Previous experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Lead, or Technical Lead.
• Banking or financial services experience is an added advantage.
• Scrum Master certification such as PSM or CSM is an advantage.
