Job Description

6+ years building and operating production backend systems or API/middleware platforms at scale.

Deep experience with GraphQL, and hands-on with federation / schema composition (Apollo

Federation or an equivalent).

Strong systems fundamentals: distributed systems, networking, caching, and performance profiling

of latency-sensitive services.

Proficiency in a systems language for router work — Rust (strongly preferred), or Go/C++ with a

clear path to Rust — and the maturity to make build-vs-adopt decisions with evidence.

Polyglot comfort across the subgraph stacks. Our services are built in a mix of

Node/TypeScript, Scala, and Java/Spring — you should be able to read, debug, and guide teams.

Required Skills:

• Strong experience with GraphQL and federation/schema composition (Apollo Federation or similar).
• Proficiency in Rust (preferred) or strong experience with Go/C++ and willingness to work with Rust.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Scala, and backend development.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, networking, caching, and performance optimization.
• Ability to read, debug, and support services built across Java/Spring, Scala, and Node.js/TypeScript environments.
• Experience designing and maintaining high-performance, latency-sensitive services.
