Java Mainframe Developer

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with 10+ years of experience in developing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise mainframe applications. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM and should be capable of analyzing business requirements and delivering reliable technical solutions in a mainframe environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain COBOL mainframe applications supporting critical business processes.
• Design, develop, and optimize JCL jobs for batch processing and scheduling.
• Develop and maintain DB2 database programs, including SQL queries, data retrieval, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Develop and support CICS online programs for real-time transaction processing.
• Work with VSAM files for data storage, access, and file management.
• Analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Perform application debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Optimize existing programs and batch processes for performance and reliability.
• Participate in application testing, deployment, and production support activities.
• Collaborate with business analysts, technical teams, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare technical documentation and support knowledge-transfer activities.
• Ensure developed solutions meet enterprise coding and quality standards.

Required Experience

• 10+ years of experience in Mainframe development.
• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM .
• Strong SQL and database development experience.
• Experience with both batch and online transaction processing .
• Ability to understand business requirements and provide techno-functional solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
