Java Software Engineer (12 months contract)

Responsibilities:

• Establish vision and technical direction for major initiatives and build high quality and architecturally sound systems for global usage
• Work towards sprint goals collectively and collabratively
• Hands-on programming, testing and putting the new solutions into production
• Bring clarity to complexity and demonstrate smart ways to simplify our ecosystem
• Work with the team to deliver value to the business partners, aiming for stakeholder satisfaction.

Requirements:

• Relevant university degree (Computer Science/Engineering).
• 5+ years of commercial software development experience using structured software development procedures in UNIX and Windows 10 environments.
• Commercial hands-on experience in Java 17+.
• Extensive knowledge and experience on Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, Maven. etc.
• Experience in Application containerisation and orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes or OpenShift).
• Knowledge in CI/CD.
• Knowledge in Microservices, Kafka.
• Experience in Linux and Shell Scripting.
• Solid knowledge of SQL, ideally with DB2 and PostgreSQL.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken, and good presentation skills.
• Knowledge in Python/Perl preferred.
• Experience with GIT, Jira, Bitbucket, GitLab, Jenkins preferred.
• Experience with Scrum preferred.
• Knowledge in AWS preferred.
• Experience in investment banking preferred.
