Blu Omega is seeking a Java Solution Architect to support the VA Loan Guaranty (LGY) program. This role is responsible for designing and implementing secure, scalable Java-based solutions to modernize and integrate enterprise applications for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Program Overview
The VA Loan Guaranty program helps active-duty service members, Veterans, and eligible surviving spouses buy, build, or retain a home.

Responsibilities

• Design and support Java-based enterprise applications using Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and modern development practices.
• Translate business and technical requirements into solution designs, architecture diagrams, and integration approaches.
• Support modernization of legacy applications and their integration with existing enterprise systems.
• Collaborate with developers, DevSecOps engineers, and infrastructure teams to implement secure, scalable solutions.
• Provide technical guidance on application architecture, APIs, databases, and cloud integration.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Support CI/CD processes, automated testing, containerization, and deployment activities.
• Ensure solutions adhere to VA security requirements and federal development standards.
• Work with Agile teams to support technical planning, development, and delivery.
• Identify opportunities to improve application performance, maintainability, and reliability.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of software development experience, including significant hands-on Java/J2EE development.
• Experience designing technical solutions or serving as a Technical Lead, Lead Developer, or Solution Architect.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
• Experience integrating enterprise applications and working with relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or similar cloud environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and tools such as Jenkins, Git, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Understanding of application security, authentication, and secure software development practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust clearance.

Salary Range
$100,000.00 - $114,000.00
