About the Role

We are looking for a Technical Lead with strong Java and cloud engineering expertise to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, data-driven solutions. In this role, you will provide technical leadership, guide engineering best practices, and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable REST APIs and distributed systems.
• Drive technical decisions and ensure adherence to engineering standards and best practices.
• Lead the development of containerized microservices and cloud-based solutions.
• Champion automated testing, code quality, and high test coverage through unit, integration, and performance testing.
• Investigate and resolve complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and support continuous service improvement.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Developers, and QA teams to deliver business requirements.
• Contribute to project planning, effort estimation, risk management, and technical roadmaps.
• Support CI/CD implementation and DevOps best practices.
• Mentor team members and foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Java 11+ and the Spring Framework , including Spring Boot and Microservices.
• Expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Experience building scalable, containerized microservices.
• Proven experience with automated testing, unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse and resolve complex technical issues.
• Proficiency with Git and modern version control practices.
• Strong SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases.
• Experience working with cloud platforms and data processing solutions.
• Experience with GCP Dataflow and Dataform (Composer knowledge is an advantage).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, software development lifecycle, and Agile methodologies.

Nice to Have

• Experience with ETL tools or data migration projects.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and data engineering practices.
• Experience working in large-scale distributed environments.
• Exposure to performance tuning and system optimisation.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
• Experience managing project scope, priorities, estimates, and delivery timelines.
