We are looking for strong Java Technical Lead for one of our leading technology program

Location: Delhi / NCR - WFO

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Lead with strong expertise in Java and Kafka to join our team. The role will involve leading a team of engineers, driving technical delivery, and working closely with stakeholders to build and enhance scalable enterprise applications.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Java-based backend development, event-driven architecture, Kafka, microservices, and should be comfortable providing technical leadership to a growing engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of Java engineers and provide technical direction across projects
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot
• Design and implement microservices and event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka
• Own technical design, architecture decisions, code quality, and engineering best practices
• Work closely with product owners, architects, business stakeholders, and offshore/onshore teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding, security, performance, and development standards
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive root-cause analysis and resolution
• Ensure timely delivery of technical milestones while maintaining quality
• Identify technical risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement
• Mentor team members and contribute to building a strong engineering culture
• Collaborate with distributed teams and effectively communicate technical decisions and project status
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, CI/CD practices, automation, and engineering standards

Core Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in Java 8/11/17+
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework
• Good understanding of Microservices architecture
• Strong experience with Apache Kafka, including producers, consumers, topics, partitions, consumer groups, and event-driven design
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and backend application development
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
• Experience with at least one NoSQL database or technology, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, Redis, or equivalent
• Good understanding of distributed systems and application scalability
• Experience with Git and modern software development practices
• Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps practices

Leadership Skills

• Proven experience leading a team of software engineers
• Ability to provide technical guidance and mentor developers
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to take ownership of technical deliverables
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
• Ability to work effectively with geographically distributed teams

Good to Have

• Experience working on Order Management Systems (OMS) or large-scale enterprise platforms
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of caching technologies such as Redis
• Experience with automated testing and TDD/BDD practices
• Exposure to observability and monitoring tools
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline
