Job Title: Senior Database Administrator (Senior DBA)About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator to own the security, performance, and recoverability of our core database operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the complete database lifecycle, high availability, replication, backup and restore strategies, performance tuning, and capacity planning. You will drive database security compliance, automated schema deployments, rigorous root-cause analysis (RCA), and data archival to ensure our database platforms remain secure, resilient, and highly performant.

Key Responsibilities

• Database Reliability & Operations: Own the secure, performant, and recoverable operations of all enterprise database systems, ensuring continuous availability and strict SLA compliance.
• Lifecycle & Schema Management: Manage the end-to-end database lifecycle, including automated schema deployments, upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning.
• HA, Replication & Disaster Recovery: Implement, test, and maintain high availability (HA) clustering, database replication, and reliable backup/restore mechanisms.
• Performance & Capacity Planning: Monitor database health, optimize query performance, troubleshoot systemic bottlenecks, and forecast long-term capacity and archival/purge requirements.
• Security & Compliance: Enforce enterprise database security standards, access controls, patching cadences, and vulnerability management.
• Automation & Resiliency: Automate routine database operational workflows to eliminate manual toil and eliminate single-person dependencies.
• Deliverables & Documentation: Generate and maintain database registers, backup/recovery reports, health and performance analytics, patch reports, and regular disaster recovery restore test results.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Core Expertise: Senior-level proficiency administering both enterprise Oracle databases and open-source/managed database platforms.
• Clustering & Architecture: Extensive hands-on experience with database clustering, replication topologies, and high-availability design.
• Backup, Recovery & DR: Proven track record executing robust backup/restore procedures, recovery testing, and disaster recovery execution.
• Performance Optimization: Deep skill set in database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and index/query optimization.
• Security & Automation: Strong background in database security implementation, automation scripting, and process documentation to ensure operational transparency.
